0.1 Course Structure.pdf
Course Structure:
There will be 20 units (sections) in the course. Each unit will run for one or two weeks. Each unit will cover a specific topic on neurophysiological monitoring. Each unit will be open (one at a time) and will stay open until the end of the course. Each unit will have the same structure:
1. Lectures: Pre-recorded lectures will be available to view at your own time. Lecture handouts will be available for each unit topic.
2. Required Reading: Each unit will have a required reading which will be added to the unit and clearly labeled, and can be downloaded and printed if needed. Each participant will be required to submit a summary of the reading topic. These submissions will be graded (scored), with the best submission getting the highest score and every other submission scoring based on the comparison. The first three summaries will receive 5% bonus points.
3. Infographic: Each unit will have the required submission of an infographic related to the week's topic. The first three submissions will receive 5% bonus points.
4. Slack Discussions: Each unit will have a discussion board in the 'Slack' application. You can post your thoughts, comments, questions, links, surgery data, and anything interesting and related to the topic. Class participation and attendance are required.
5. Zoom Meetings: Live Zoom meetings will be scheduled to review topics (open questions and answer format). You are encouraged to submit your questions one day before the forum to better explain. All zoom recordings will be later posted on eLearning. Some pre-recording lectures will be shared for reference for enthusiastic learners.
6. Quiz: Each unit will have an exam. It is a formative quiz intended to give you feedback on the subject and your understanding.
7. Breaks: There will be multiple breaks during the course to catch any missing assignments.
8. Exams: There will be two exams covering the previous weeks' topics during the course. You must pass the exam to proceed to the next level
9. Final Exam: There will be a final review and exam at the end of the course. All participants must pass the final exam to graduate from the program.
10. Graduation: The graduation ceremony will be held virtually after the course for all successful participant
